Proud to be American again! When was the last time a speech brought tears of joy to your eyes? He didn't omit a country of the world or a problem Earth faces - and he never smirked and never mispronounced a word! |

I agree, luv, it's an excellent speech. My concern is that Obama sees America as the world's 911 number & that every crisis or problem in any
other country will be our business to clean up. That assumes we know better than they do what their internal affairs should be. It also usurps the UN, where
any international effort should originate.

UN is paralyzed by Security Council with its 5 veto votes by 5 permanent members.
I did NOT hear BO making America world's 911 number "& that every crisis or problem in any other country will be our business to clean up." I heard him advocating such situations are joint responsibilities of people/nations of the "World" (e.g., NATO in Afghanistan, but NATO alone couldn't/wouldn't/shouldn't be the only "shoulders" for their resurrection from the Stone Age). Main theme, he would not continue the dumbya/darth go it alone, "with us or agin us"! "Our way or the hi-way!" I suggest you listen and/or read the speech again. This was a pointer to international progressivism. |

I hope you're right, luvvy, because I think Obama will be the next commander in chief. (& can we drop that "BO" abbreviation--it has smelly
connotations)
The only statesman in my lifetime I have complete respect for is Gorbachev, & Obama is reminding me of him. |
